Flights in Fifth Grade
By: Derek Lund
The morning dawn arrived early,
day six of fifth grade.
Walked through the morning dew
crisp September morning,
the sunrise
burned
disparate colors.
Cheerful smiles were inverted
my teacher
everyone
weeping.
The T.V. also
burned
with the flames,
of the world trade.

thats amazing i never looked at that day as affecting our lives so young but it did way to put it
Quite the interesting perspective young lad, and indeed it shows quite what happened in your eyes well. Only suggestions would be instead of giving away what you are talking about use imagery.
This poem is awesome, i have to be honest i didn't think it was about 9/11 'til the end.
